About Apsara Palace

This restaurant has been up and running since February 2004. Since then it has molded itself into the community on Hope Street as if it was there for many years now. Closing in to three years so far, the business has become one of Rhode Island's proclaimed restaurants as noted in Rhode Island Monthly's BEST OF RHODE ISLAND. Many so far have traveled from nearby states just to get a taste such residents from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York. The word is out, Apsara Palace is the place to enjoy asian cuisines.

The restaurant specializes in Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Cambodian cuisine. The staff is made up of family and friends who are of Cambodian and Chinese ethnicity. The owner and manager are of two individuals who both have been in the restaurant business for years. Kim Te is the daughter of the owner of the famous Apsara Asian Restaurant which is located in South Providence on Elmwood. She wanted to venture out and start her own business which brought her to Apsara Palace. Her business partner Sophal Sok agreed that it was time to start their own business. Their heart was set on the name "Apsara" which has a meaning to the their native language, Khmer. Khmer is the language of which the people of Cambodia are accustomed to.
